Best Day Ever

Best Day Ever stands as the fifth mixtape from American rapper Mac Miller, launched by Rostrum Records on 11 March 2011. This release succeeded Miller’s well-received mixtape, K.I.D.S. (2010). Comprising sixteen tracks, the mixtape involved the collaborative efforts of nine producers, predominantly ID Labs. Featured artists on Best Day Ever include rappers Wiz Khalifa and Phonte.

Notably, four songs from the mixtape, namely “Donald Trump,” “Get Up,” “Wear My Hat,” and “Best Day Ever,” were accompanied by music videos.

Leading up to the mixtape’s release, Mac Miller engaged with an audience of over 20,000 through a live video stream.

As of March 2019, Best Day Ever has garnered over 1.2 million downloads and 1.5 million streams on its official host, DatPiff. The track “Donald Trump,” released separately as a single on May 17, 2011, marked Miller’s inaugural entry on the US Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 75. Furthermore, the single attained platinum certification from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA). The associated music video on YouTube has surpassed 180 million views, making it Miller’s most-viewed video. Notably, even Donald Trump acknowledged the song on Twitter, expressing flattery.

In June 2016, Rostrum Records remastered and commercially re-released Best Day Ever to commemorate its fifth anniversary.

The mixtape received favourable reviews, earning an “XL” rating (second highest) from XXL magazine.
