Adele’s fourth studio album, “30,” was released on 19th November 2021 by Columbia Records. This marked her return after a six-year hiatus following “25” (2015). The album draws inspiration from Adele’s personal experiences, notably her divorce, the resulting impact on her son, and the challenges of motherhood and fame. The production, initiated in 2018, involved collaborations with esteemed producers like Greg Kurstin, Max Martin, Inflo, Tobias Jesso Jr., Ludwig Göransson, Shawn Everett, and Shellback. “30” explores a musical landscape encompassing pop, soul, and jazz, infused with dance-pop, gospel, and R&B elements.

The album was promoted through TV specials, namely “Adele One Night Only” and “An Audience with Adele.” Three singles were released, with “Easy on Me” emerging as the lead single, achieving chart-topping success in both the US and the UK. Subsequent singles, “Oh My God” and “I Drink Wine,” also secured places in the UK chart’s top five simultaneously with “Easy on Me.”

Critically acclaimed, “30” received praise for Adele’s exceptional vocal performance, compelling lyricism, and thematic depth. Numerous media outlets recognized it among the best albums of 2021. The album garnered Grammy nominations, including Album of the Year, and clinched the Brit Award for British Album of the Year at the 2022 Brit Awards. Adele’s historic win marked her as the first solo artist to achieve this distinction three times.

Commercially, “30” soared to number one in various countries. In the UK, it set a record for the highest first-week sales by a female artist since her third studio album, “25.” It maintained a five-week chart-topping position in the UK and six weeks in the US. With a global sales figure of 5.54 million copies, “30” emerged as the best-selling album of 2021.
