Speaking In Tongues

Released on 1 June 1983, Speaking in Tongues marked a new chapter for Talking Heads. Following their split from producer Brian Eno and a brief hiatus that allowed each member to pursue solo projects, the band returned with an album that retained their adventurous spirit while embracing a brighter, more accessible sound. The result was their commercial breakthrough and the record that introduced them to their widest audience.

At its heart is the irresistible “Burning Down the House”, the band’s only Top 10 hit in the United States, but the album’s appeal stretches far beyond a single song.
