Skeletal Domain

“A Skeletal Domain” is the thirteenth studio album by Cannibal Corpse, released on 16 September 2014, under Metal Blade Records. Produced by Mark Lewis at Audiohammer Studios, Sanford, FL, the album features a dark and eerie tone typical of death metal. It marked Cannibal Corpse’s highest charting album on the US Billboard 200, debuting at number 32 with 8,825 copies sold in its first week.

Bassist Alex Webster described the album as having a notably dark sound, which aligns with the genre’s expectations but also introduces some unique elements. The album’s lead single, “Sadistic Embodiment,” premiered on Metal Blade Records’ YouTube channel on 1 July 2014, while “The Murderer’s Pact” was streamed on Loudwire.com on 8 September 2014. Additionally, a music video for “Kill or Become” was released on 24 September 2014.

The album’s track listing includes twelve songs, showcasing Cannibal Corpse’s signature aggressive style and intricate instrumentation. “A Skeletal Domain” received positive reviews from critics and achieved notable chart positions globally, including reaching number 21 in Germany and number 3 on the US Top Hard Rock Albums chart.

Visual art for the album was created by Vince Locke, with layout by Brian Ames and photography by Alex Morgan. The album credits feature George “Corpsegrinder” Fisher on vocals, Pat O’Brien and Rob Barrett on guitars, Alex Webster on bass, and Paul Mazurkiewicz on drums.
