After a 14-year wait, Andrea Bocelli returned with Sì—his first album of original material since 2004’s Andrea. The result is a heartfelt, celebratory collection that leans into Bocelli’s signature romanticism, bolstered by sweeping arrangements, star-studded collaborations and a surprising emotional intimacy.

Family and legacy sit at the heart of the record. “Fall on Me” finds Bocelli sharing the spotlight with his son Matteo, their voices harmonising across generations. Amos Bocelli also features, playing piano on two acoustic bonus tracks. It’s not just a family affair though. Ed Sheeran co-writes and duets on “Amo soltanto te”, while Dua Lipa, Josh Groban and later Ellie Goulding all bring contemporary energy to this otherwise classically rooted project.

There’s an undeniable warmth to Sì, with Bocelli’s soaring tenor never feeling showy. Tracks like “Vivo”, dedicated to his wife Veronica, and the anthemic “Ali di libertà” feel personal and open-hearted. The deluxe and Si Forever: The Diamond Edition versions widen the scope further, offering Spanish, French and Mandarin-language takes alongside new collaborations.

Commercially, the album was a landmark. It debuted at number one in both the UK and US—making Bocelli the first classical artist in two decades to top the UK charts and the first in a decade to do so in America. It was later nominated for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album at the 62nd Grammy Awards.

Sì is an album about connection—between generations, between languages, and between Bocelli’s classical roots and a broader pop world. For an artist who has long bridged musical divides, it feels like a full-circle moment delivered with grace.
