Reason Enough

On their third album, Reason Enough, Crows push beyond the relentless intensity that first defined them, embracing a broader and more melodic sound without losing the raw energy at the heart of their music. It’s a confident evolution, revealing a band unafraid to expand their horizons while staying true to their post-punk roots.

Written over a longer period than any of their previous records, the album benefits from a more patient and exploratory approach. Tracks such as “Vision Of Me”, “Bored” and “Is It Better?” combine driving rhythms, sharp guitar work and memorable hooks with a newfound sense of space and refinement. Produced by Mercury Prize-nominated Andy Savours, the record feels cleaner and more cohesive than its predecessors, allowing every performance to hit with greater clarity and emotional impact.

Lyrically, frontman James Cox turns inward, drawing on a difficult period marked by personal struggles and the weight of an unsettling world. While earlier Crows releases leaned heavily into anger, Reason Enough is shaped more by reflection, melancholy and the search for hope amid uncertainty. That emotional honesty gives the album a depth that perfectly complements its richer musical palette.

Rather than abandoning the grit that earned them acclaim, Crows sharpen it into something even more compelling. Thoughtful, powerful and endlessly engaging, Reason Enough captures a band reaching a new level of maturity while proving that growth and intensity can exist side by side.
