Open Sesame stands as the debut album of the young trumpeter Freddie Hubbard, recorded on 19 June 1960 at Rudy Van Gelder’s studio in Englewood Cliffs, New Jersey, released later that year by Blue Note Records. Hubbard, then just 22 years old, showcased his extraordinary talent alongside an impressive lineup, including saxophonist Tina Brooks, pianist McCoy Tyner, bassist Sam Jones, and drummer Clifford Jarvis.
