Night Visions

“Night Visions” is the debut studio album by American pop rock band Imagine Dragons, released on 4 September 2012, under Kidinakorner and Interscope Records. The album, which took three years to complete according to lead singer Dan Reynolds, features production contributions from the band, English hip-hop producer Alex da Kid, and Brandon Darner from The Envy Corps. Six tracks from the album had previously appeared on multiple EPs. Musically, “Night Visions” blends influences from folk, hip hop, and pop genres.

Upon release, “Night Visions” received mixed reviews from critics but debuted impressively, entering the Billboard 200 chart at number two and selling over 83,000 copies in its first week. It has since been certified double Platinum in the United States and topped both the Billboard Alternative Albums and Rock Albums charts. The album also achieved top ten positions in numerous international markets including Australia, Canada, Germany, and the United Kingdom. It notably appeared in the Billboard 200 top 10 in 2012, 2013, and 2014, and ranked as the fourth best-selling album in the US in 2013. The album was recognised with a Juno Award nomination for International Album of the Year in 2014 and won the Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Album the same year.

Promotion for “Night Visions” included a series of successful singles, notably “It’s Time”, “Radioactive”, “Hear Me”, “Demons”, and “On Top of the World”. The band embarked on extensive tours, including the Night Visions Tour starting in 2013, which comprised 145 dates across North America and Europe. Imagine Dragons gained significant exposure through performances on popular television shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, and Good Morning America, showcasing their energetic live performances to a growing fan base worldwide.
