“It Won’t Always Be Like This” is the debut studio album by Irish rock band Inhaler, released on 9th July 2021 through Polydor Records.

The band initially planned to start recording the album in March 2020, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the plans had to be postponed. In March 2021, Inhaler announced the album’s title and released it in July of the same year.

To promote the album, Inhaler embarked on a tour spanning the UK, Europe, and North America. The tour commenced in the UK in late August 2021, followed by North America in September 2021, and Europe in October 2021, starting in Dublin and concluding in Lisbon in July 2022. Additionally, Inhaler performed “Cheer Up Baby” on The Late Late Show with James Corden and MTV Rocks Chart with Jack Saunders to promote the album.

Regarding the album’s content, the title track, “It Won’t Always Be Like This,” was one of the band’s earliest compositions and is frequently the opening song at their gigs. Originally released as a single in March 2019, it was re-recorded for the album to reflect the band’s live sound.

Other notable tracks include “My Honest Face,” written in December 2018 and re-recorded for the album, which gained significant attention during the band’s early touring days. “Slide Out the Window,” written during the COVID-19 lockdown, offers a slower pace compared to other tracks and reflects the feeling of longing during isolation.

“Cheer Up Baby,” released in March 2021, serves as an uplifting anthem that has been a staple in the band’s live performances. “A Night on the Floor” explores psychedelic elements and themes of negativity, while “My King Will Be Kind” delves into the influence of online extremism on young people.

“When It Breaks,” written at the onset of lockdown, contrasts the prevailing anger and aggression of the time, while “Who’s Your Money On? (Plastic House)” combines elements of jamming with another song to create a unique track.

“Totally” showcases the band’s experimentation with music during lockdown, despite the challenges of remote collaboration. “Strange Time to Be Alive” features vocals from a demo by Robert Keating, serving as an interlude before the final track, “In My Sleep,” written during a recording studio session in 2020.
