Joe Pass’s 1964 studio album, For Django, was recorded in October 1964 at Pacific Jazz Studios in Hollywood and released by Pacific Jazz Records. The album, produced by Richard Bock, features jazz renditions of compositions associated with or inspired by Django Reinhardt.
Personnel on the album include Joe Pass on guitar, John Pisano on guitar, Jim Hughart on bass, and Colin Bailey on drums.
In his AllMusic review, critic Scott Yanow noted that the album is considered a classic and highlighted Pass’s ability to fit seamlessly into the music despite being more influenced by Charlie Christian than by Reinhardt.
The album charted on the German Albums (Offizielle Top 100) in 2022, reaching position 38.
