“Diaspora,” the second studio album by American rapper GoldLink, made its debut on 12 June 2019, under RCA Records. Sequel to his previous release, “At What Cost” (2017), this album features an array of guest appearances, including notable artists like Pusha T, Tyler, the Creator, Khalid, Wizkid, and more.

The album’s cover is a visually striking composition featuring singer and model Justine Skye, who was GoldLink’s girlfriend at the time. In neon green light, she wears ’90s-style sunglasses with her hair pulled back, adorned with a few earrings. The photograph was captured by Hailey Bieber.

Critically, “Diaspora” received acclaim, evident in its Metacritic score of 82 out of 100, signifying “universal acclaim” based on reviews from six critics. The New Yorker’s Briana Younger highlighted the album’s commentary on Blackness as a global phenomenon. She noted that each track can be interpreted to represent different facets of Black identity, offering a nuanced perspective on the subject.
