The album includes notable musicians such as Stanley Turrentine on tenor saxophone, Kenny Burrell on guitar for tracks 1 and 4, and Donald Bailey on drums. Back at the Chicken Shack is recognised as a significant work in Smith’s discography, often praised for its vibrant performances and musical cohesion.
