Following the chart-scaling success of The Last Waltz, he returned with A Man Without Love—a record that blends sentimental grandeur with a light, continental flair. In the US, it reached a respectable number 12 on the Billboard 200.

The title track is the clear centrepiece: a sweeping Italian ballad delivered with Humperdinck’s signature baritone and a velvet-gloved intensity that borders on operatic.
