A Fistful of Peaches

Few albums feel as defiant and self-assured as A Fistful of Peaches, the third studio release from Black Honey, out now via Foxfive Records. Where 2021’s Written & Directed swaggered through its Tarantino-inspired grit, A Fistful of Peaches takes that widescreen ambition and flips it inward. This time, frontwoman Izzy Bee Phillips isn’t just playing a part—she’s laying it bare. From the searing glam-stomp of Charlie Bronson to the surprisingly tender gut-punch of Heavy, the band move effortlessly between snarling confidence and emotional candour.

Tracks like Tombstone and I’m A Man bristle with furious riffs and pointed defiance, while Cut the Chord and Out of My Mind lean into sticky, alt-pop hooks that feel built for the repeat button. But it’s the curveballs that hit hardest: Nobody Knows arrives like a ghost in the night—brooding, cold, and utterly arresting in its stillness.
