How It Works

The basic goal of Vinyl Deli is to provide a personalised vinyl subscription delivering superb surprise selections on a monthly basis.

Checkout, Fill Out

Once you’ve subscribed, you will receive an email welcoming you to Vinyl Deli. It includes a personaliser questionnaire where you fill in your likes, dislikes, and other information, with the ability to link your current collection via Discogs.

Sourced for You

We review your profile every month and find records you’ll want in your collection. They may be staples. They may be new to your ears. Once we’ve sourced your selection, we package it in our sturdy LP mailers and ship your records to you.

Vinyl Deli was founded on the principles of building a vinyl subscription box that everyone would love. Each month, each package is carefully considered and curated for each member of our club.

There are no shortcuts. There are no computers computing. We craft tantalising selections of records. Each box is thoughtfully selected for you.

Vinyl Deli focuses on your tastes, we learn your likes and dislikes, examine your current collection, and ensure every box is either pleasing your musical palette or complementing it, helping you relive nostalgia or introducing your ears to new, sonic experiences.

With such a unique vinyl subscription service, it’s natural to have a few questions.

How will you know what music I like?

Once you complete checkout, we will send you an email which includes a link to your personaliser questionnaire.

Please complete this, as it is what enables us to select records to your tastes. The personaliser takes around 5 to 15 minutes to complete, dependent on how detailed you wish to be.

The personaliser covers your liked and disliked artists and genres, your openness to discovering new music, along with a few other questions to personalise your experience. You can also link your current record collection via Discogs, so we know what records you already own.

You can update your tastes later at any time from your account.

How will you know what I have in my collection already?

To avoid us sending you records you already own, please link your Discogs collection when completing your personaliser.

How much is delivery?

As a subscriber, you will benefit from free delivery to UK addresses.

If you wish to ship to a location outside of the UK, then there will be additional charges which vary by country. To calculate the shipping cost, please proceed to checkout and input your address to receive accurate costings. 

For all International Shipping, we absorb part of the cost and do not make any profit on our shipping charges.

How are records valued?

With new records, we base our pricing on other physical and online stores to ensure our pricing is fair and competitive. 

Pre-loved records are a little bit more complicated. We grade both the media and sleeve, based on the Goldmine Standard rating system. We take into consideration both the condition of the record and what’s for sale on marketplaces such as Discogs, to price a pre-loved record. We don’t send out records below “very good”. 

What if you send me a record I don't like?

No one’s perfect. Once in a blue moon, our taste makers may get it wrong. If we do, then by all means email us and tell us at [email protected]. We will happily arrange an exchange if we’ve made a mistake, in-line with our returns and exchanges policy

When are renewals taken?

Whenever you decide.

We try to be as fair as possible. We want subscribers to have full control over when your renewals are taken. We recognise some of you will prefer to have your renewals taken at certain times of the month, in-line with payday for example.

As part of your welcome, you will receive an email detailing our monthly schedule and how to instruct us to change your renewal date.

If you don’t opt to change your renewal date, then your renewal will be taken the same day as you signed up. For example, if you subscribed on 3rd March, then your renewals will be taken on the 3rd day of each subsequent month.

How many records will I actually receive?

It depends on the package you opt for. If you were to receive new records only, then you will typically receive:

  • Renaissance: 1 new record per month
  • Quite Delicious: 2 new records per month
  • Oakley: 4 new records per month

Of course, pre-loved records tend to be lower in value and so it wouldn’t be uncommon to receive 2 or 3 pre-loved records for every 1 new record.
